Add subscriptions with Adapty or RevenueCat
Written by the Fastshot team from the Fastshot user guides. Updated .
Fastshot supports Adapty, the default, and RevenueCat for in-app purchases and subscriptions. Purchases are mocked in the browser preview and Expo Go. For real purchases in an installed build, save the Adapty public SDK key and placement on the Monetization page. RevenueCat has to be connected manually first.
Start building your appFastshot supports two monetization providers. Adapty is the default; RevenueCat is connected manually.
1. Open the Monetization page
It has a tab for each provider: Adapty (its API key and placement ID) and RevenueCat (connect your RevenueCat account, then choose its project and app).
2. Ask for the paywall
Ask the AI to add subscriptions or in-app purchases to the app. If you ask for RevenueCat before connecting it, the AI tells you to connect it first.
3. Test with mocked purchases
In the browser preview and in Expo Go, purchases are mocked, so you can walk through the flow without real payments.
4. Save your Adapty key before an installed build
For real purchases in an installed build, save the Adapty public SDK key and placement on the Monetization page. Without them the build still finishes, with a warning in its log, but purchases do not work in the installed app.
Good to know
- Monetization needs a store build on a real device to be tested end to end; the preview only mocks it.
Frequently asked questions
- Which is better for subscriptions, Adapty or RevenueCat?
- Fastshot supports both. Adapty is the default, and RevenueCat needs a manual connection first. Which fits depends on your app: this guide covers setup, not a comparison of the two.
- How do I add subscriptions or in-app purchases to my app?
- Open the Monetization page, then ask the AI to add subscriptions or in-app purchases. Adapty needs its API key and placement ID; RevenueCat needs your account connected, then its project and app chosen.
- Do I need to connect RevenueCat first?
- Yes. RevenueCat requires manual connection on the Monetization page. If you ask for it before connecting, the AI tells you to connect it first.
- Do purchases work in the preview?
- They are mocked in the browser preview and in Expo Go, so you can walk through the flow without real payments. Real purchases need an installed build with the Adapty public SDK key and placement saved on the Monetization page.
- What do I need to save before building with Adapty?
- The Adapty public SDK key and placement, on the Monetization page. Without them the build still finishes, with a warning in its log, but purchases do not work in the installed app.
- How do I monetize an app built with Fastshot?
- Through in-app purchases and subscriptions with Adapty or RevenueCat, added by asking the AI. To test the whole purchase flow end to end you need a store build on a real device; the preview only mocks it.
