Learn vibe coding and how mobile apps are built

Fastshot Learn is a free course for iPhone and iPad from the team behind Fastshot. Below it, six guides show how to build an app with Fastshot itself.

Fastshot Learn is 16 short lessons on how mobile apps work, with a knowledge check in every lesson and a practice app with six hands-on exercises. When you are ready, open the projects you made in the Fastshot AI app builder and read and change their code yourself.

Guides: build an app with Fastshot

These guides are separate from the Fastshot Learn app. They show how to make a real iOS and Android app with Fastshot, from the first prompt to a build on your phone.

Four units, from screens to release

    Unit 1

    How apps work

Screens, state, navigation and data: the parts every app is made of.

    1. Screens and components
    2. State: how apps remember
    3. Moving between screens
    4. Where data lives

    Unit 2

    Plan what to build

Goals, boundaries and checks that turn an idea into a clear plan.

    1. Set a clear goal
    2. Set useful boundaries
    3. Describe a passing result
    4. Make a useful follow-up

    Unit 3

    Read the code

Find your way around a project’s source, then change it yourself.

    1. Read a screen’s code
    2. Props pass information
    3. Styles and layout
    4. Your first code experiment

    Unit 4

    Test and debug

Review a plan, read errors, test on a real phone and get ready to release.

    1. Review a plan
    2. Read an error message
    3. Test on a real phone
    4. From prototype to release

    Learn by changing real code

Six lessons come with an exercise in the practice app, a small reading-list app whose source you can open in Code. Predict what a change will do, run it and compare. Every lesson also ends with a step to try in your own Fastshot project. New to this? See how Fastshot turns a prompt into an app.

    Questions

Is there a free vibe coding or app development course?
Yes. Fastshot Learn is a free course for iPhone and iPad: 16 short lessons in four units, a knowledge check in every lesson and a practice app with six exercises. There are no in-app purchases, and the lessons work without an account.
How do I start vibe coding as a beginner?
Learn how apps work first (screens, state, navigation and data) in Fastshot Learn. Then build your first app: describe it in plain language, approve the plan and wait about 5 to 7 minutes for the first version. No coding experience is needed.
What will I learn in the course?
Four units: how apps work (screens, state, navigation, data), planning what to build, reading a project’s code, and testing and debugging up to what a release needs. Every lesson has a knowledge check, and six come with exercises in the practice app.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The course starts with what an app is made of and brings in code one small piece at a time. You can also build an app in Fastshot by describing it in plain language, without writing code.
What do I need to take the course? Do I need an account?
An iPhone or iPad with iOS 16.4 or later. The lessons and practice app work without an account; sign in only to open your own Fastshot projects. The Fastshot guides on this page work in any browser.
Can I practice on my own app?
Yes. Every lesson ends with a step to try in your own project. Sign in, open a project you made in the Fastshot editor, find the code in Code, change a value and run it, then compare the result with what you expected.
    Where is my progress saved?
On your device. Fastshot Learn keeps your progress on the iPhone or iPad you use, and its privacy policy is at learn.fastshot.ai/privacy.

Fastshot Learn on learn.fastshot.ai has the App Store link, the privacy policy and support.
