Adapty is the default subscription provider in Fastshot. Ask for a paywall in chat, try it with sample purchases, then add your key and placement for real ones.
Ask Fastshot for a subscription and a paywall. Adapty is the default provider, so there is nothing to connect, and the preview uses sample purchases. Before you build for real purchases, paste your Adapty public SDK key and placement ID on the Monetization page.

Adapty is a subscription platform for mobile apps. It keeps three things apart. Products are what people can buy. Flows and paywalls are the screens that present those products. Placements say where and when a screen shows, for example main, onboarding or settings.
The app asks Adapty for the paywall of one placement, gets its products back with store prices, and calls the purchase. A placement is also how Adapty runs A/B tests: each audience can get a different paywall without you touching the app code. Adapty has a no-code Flow & Paywall Builder for that, and it renders natively, not in a web view.
When a purchase succeeds, Adapty returns a profile with access levels. A level called premium that is active means the user may open the locked part of your app.
Fastshot builds the paywall screen directly in your app code and loads the products from your placement, so the screen follows your design. If you also want ads for free users, see AdMob ads.
You get working screens and logic in the Expo project, not a stub.
One card per product, with its title, description, the price formatted for the user's country and the billing period. The AI shows a spinner while the products load.
Buttons lock while a purchase runs. A cancelled purchase closes quietly, a pending purchase shows a message that it awaits approval, and an error shows its text on the paywall.
Tapping a locked item opens the paywall. After a purchase the paywall closes and the item the user tapped opens, so the sale and the content stay in one flow.
In the browser preview and in Expo Go the paywall shows "Preview, sample prices, no charge." A sample purchase switches the app to premium, so you can test every locked screen.
The app reads the Adapty public SDK key and the placement ID from the project variables. If either is missing, the app shows setup guidance instead of a broken paywall.
The app reads the real Adapty profile again on launch and on restore, so premium comes from the account and not from a flag stored on the phone.
No provider name is needed. Adapty is used unless you ask for RevenueCat.
Add a premium subscription with a monthly and a yearly plan.
Make a paywall with three short benefits and the yearly plan highlighted.
Lock the recipe collections marked Chef behind premium.
After a purchase, close the paywall and open the recipe the user tapped.
Add a Restore purchases link at the bottom of the paywall.Put the paywall in your first prompt or add it later in chat. Name the plans and the locked content. Nothing is connected yet, and the AI builds the screens on sample products.
Open the live preview, tap a locked item, buy a sample plan and check that the content opens. Change the copy, the plan order or the benefits by chat until the screen reads right.
Create an account at adapty.io, add the app, add the products from App Store Connect and Play Console, and create an access level with the ID premium. Build the paywall and put it on a placement.
The public SDK key is under App settings in Adapty. The placement ID is under Placements. Both are public values that belong in the app.
Open the Adapty tab and save the key and the placement ID. Save them before you build, because the installed app reads them to reach your products.
The installed build makes real Adapty calls. Buy, cancel and restore with a sandbox tester, then publish with your Apple Developer ($99 a year) and Google Play ($25 one-time) accounts.
The same paywall runs in three places. What a purchase does depends on where.
| What you check | Browser preview | Expo Go | Installed build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Products on the paywall | Sample products | Sample products | Products from your placement |
| Buy button | Sample purchase, no charge | Sample purchase, no charge | Real Apple or Google purchase |
| Premium unlock | Switches the app to premium | Switches the app to premium | Comes from your Adapty profile |
| Key and placement needed | No | No | Yes, from the Monetization page |
| Best for | Layout, copy and plan order | How it feels in your hand | The final buy and restore test |
Four values connect Adapty to the app.
| Term | Where it lives in Adapty | How the app uses it |
|---|---|---|
| Public SDK key | App settings | Starts the Adapty SDK in the installed build |
| Placement ID | Placements | Tells the app which paywall to load |
| Access level premium | Access levels | The app opens locked screens when it is active |
| Product | Products, linked to store IDs | Becomes one card with a price on the paywall |
Community apps on Fastshot that put premium features behind an Adapty paywall.
A hairstyling lesson app with AR practice labs and freemium subscription tiers planned through Adapty. See Crownlab in the gallery.
A gas price app that keeps its forecast, tank optimizer and price alerts behind an Adapty paywall. See Fuelwise in the gallery.
It is the screen that shows your subscription plans and starts the purchase, driven by Adapty. Adapty supplies the products and tracks the result, and the access level tells the app who has paid.
Not to design it. The paywall runs on sample products in the preview and in Expo Go. You need an Adapty account, with its SDK key and placement ID, before the installed app can sell real subscriptions.
The public SDK key is on the App settings page of the Adapty dashboard. The placement ID is on the Placements page. Paste both into the Adapty tab of the Monetization page in Fastshot.
It runs in mock mode. The Adapty SDK detects Expo Go and the browser and returns sample data, so you can test the screen and the unlock. Real purchases need an installed build, because Expo Go has no Adapty native code.
Yes. Ask the AI to change the benefits, the plan order or the wording and it edits the screen. Rebuild the app to ship the new version.
It reads the access level called premium from the profile Adapty returns after a purchase, again on every launch and after a restore. A user who never bought stays locked, even if they reinstall.
For most first apps, yes. It is already wired into Fastshot, and sample purchases let you finish the design before you open any store dashboard. RevenueCat paywall is the alternative when you already have a project there.

Use RevenueCat instead, with the same paywall and premium gate.
